January 2012 – Treacle Tart
Ingredients: (Makes 4 good sized individual tarts or one large)
8oz golden syrup
50g breadcrumbs
½ tsp of mixed orange and lemon zest
1 tsp orange juice
Less than a ¼ tsp ground ginger, literally just a pinch
Pre prepared sweet pastry cases or sweet pastry
Method:
If making your own tarts, make and blind bake cases.
In a pan, place all ingredients and combine over a warm heat until luke warm.
Place mixture in cases.
Bake at 175 oC until tops are golden – about 10-12 minutes.
