Are you a non-smoking hotel?
Yes - all areas of the hotel and restaurant are designated as non-smoking.
What time is check-in?
Check-in is from 2pm. We can prepare the room earlier if you require if a guest has not stayed in the room the night before, or the previous guests have checked out early. This is not guaranteed but we will do our best.
What time is check out?
Guests are asked to have checked out and vacated their room by 11am on the day of departure.
Do you take dogs?
Unfortunately, we no longer accept dogs in our hotel and restaurant.
Where does the name Lake Isle originate from?
Although we are only six miles from Rutland Water, the hotel is actually named from the poem 'The Lake Isle of Innisfree' by W B Yeats where he expresses sentiments of peace, relaxation and tranquillity.
Do you have parking?
We have spaces for seven cars at the back of the hotel can be accessed by driving past the hotel, take the next right onto Queen Street, then right again onto Mayflower Mews and the right hand fork into Reeves Yard. Customers can also park on the High Street gaining access to the hotel through the alleyway to the left hand side of the hotel.

Do you take children?
We welcome children to stay. We also offer extra children's beds at the price of £15 which includes breakfast. We also have a cot where the little ones can sleep at no additional charge. From Monday to Thursday, children are welcome to dine in the restaurant whilst on Friday and Saturday evenings, children are either able to eat before 6pm or, if parents would like to dine later whilst the children are asleep, we offer a baby-listening service. We do not offer a children's menu, but the chef is always happy to cater for children's food requests wherever possible.
What are your booking conditions?
We ask for credit card details as a guarantee of your booking. If the booking is cancelled within 7 days of the commencement of your stay, £25 per night per room will be charged to your credit card if we cannot fill the room again. The full amount for bed and breakfast will be charged if less than 48 hours notice of cancellation is given.
What are your restaurant serving times?
Breakfast:
7-9am Monday to Friday
8-9.30am Saturday and Sunday
Lunch:
12-2.30pm Tuesday to Saturday
12-2pm Sunday
Dinner:
7-9pm Monday to Thursday
7-9.30pm Friday & Saturday
We do not open the restaurant on Monday Lunch or Sunday Night. We do make exceptions for large private parties in the restaurant on Sunday nights who would also like to stay in the Hotel. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

What is your dress code?
We do not have a strict dress code, but smart casual is preferred. Gentlemen should not wear shorts or vest t-shirts in the restaurant.
Do I need to reserve a table in the restaurant?
Reservations are advisable at the weekend.
Do you accept wheelchairs?
We do accept wheelchairs in the restaurant using the front entrance. Unfortunately, due to the building being 350 years old and Grade II Listed, we are not able to cater for wheelchairs in the hotel.
Do you offer room service?
Yes, room service is offered at the restaurant opening times. However, breakfast is served in the restaurant only.
Is your hotel open 24-hours a day?
The telephone is manned around the clock and once all residents are accounted for at night, the hotel is locked up.
Can I book my stay online?
Yes, all of our bedrooms can be booked using the internet or alternatively just click on the Book Online section on our website.
Is there internet access within the hotel?
We have full wireless (WiFi) internet access available throughout the hotel including the bar, rooms and lounge areas. |
