Uppingham Theatre

Uppingham Theatre is a well established, fully equipped, 300-seat theatre which regularly stages School productions ranging from big musicals such as Calamity Jane, Miss Saigon and Into the Woods, to classic productions such as Pygmalion.

The Theatre is also a host to a wide variety of visiting professional companies and as such it plays a significant role in the cultural life of both the School and the wider community.

Music in Lyddington


Music in Lyddington organises eight concerts every year in St Andrew’s Church, Lyddington, bringing musicians of international renown to perform at top-flight musical concerts in Rutland. Music in Lyddington was founded in 1991 by Brian Stokes.

Throughout summer (June 6 – August 26) the acclaimed Stamford Shakespeare Company will be presenting two of Shakespeare’s funniest plays, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Much Ado About Nothing, and Harold Brighouse’s classic comedy, Hobson’s Choice. As the sun slowly sets, enjoy a picnic in the beautiful grounds, then take your seat and see a stage like no other.

The Corn Exchange Stamford is a 400 seat theatre built within the shell of the original Corn Exchange Hall in Stamford, Lincolnshire. Refurbished almost entirely by volunteers, and run throughout the year by volunteers.

The venue is available for seminars and corporate entertainment events for up to 399 people. The centre provides a coordinator to arrange everything, tailoring to suit, providing first-class entertainment. The Corn Exchange is now Licensed for Civil Weddings and Partnerships etc, in the Theatre and Theatre Lounge. There is also a restaurant that seats up to 150 people.

Stamford Arts Centre has so much to offer! Throughout the year, professional touring theatre companies visit the 166 seat venue. The theatre also doubles up as a cinema which, over the last 20 years, has become a film hub for Stamford, showing a wide range of genres including Hollywood Blockbusters, British, European and Art House to name a few.

The beautiful ballroom hosts a variety of concerts including a classical music season that runs from October through to May, as well as dances and workshops. The latest asset to the Arts Centre is the tremendous gallery, which is spacious, light and airy. The main gallery accommodates an interesting and varied programme of contemporary exhibitions from local and international artists including photography, painting, textile, drawing and sculpture.

The Eyebrook Gallery was established in 2015 in the historic market town of Uppingham, Rutland. ​ An independent gallery and framing service – every single item that they stock is hand picked, allowing the freedom to select good quality art and gifts that you would not find in chain galleries.
